Our team gets asked plenty of questions about general oral health and specific treatments. We’re happy to provide answers in-person, but we also know that our patients lead busy lives. If you just want to know the basics so you can feel prepared for your next appointment, check out our FAQ section below. We can dive into the details when we see you in-office!
How can I make a same-day appointment with a dentist?
If you need emergency dental care, contact our team directly by giving us a call. We’ll be able to respond with first-aid advice and schedule you for the earliest available appointment much faster over the phone than through email.
As a dental office that provides a comprehensive range of services, we’re well-equipped to promptly address the vast majority of dental emergencies, including chipped or knocked-out teeth, broken restorations, and toothaches. We also offer dental sedation, so rest assured, you’ll be quite comfortable as we work to diagnose and treat the problem!
What is the best way to find a dentist who does dental implants?
Since dental implant treatment is complex, it’s important to look for a dentist with advanced training. So step 1 should be to examine the dentist’s bio. If they list continuing education courses or professional memberships related to implant dentistry, that’s a good sign.
Step 2 is to see whether they can complete the entire dental implant process in-office. Practices that refer out for implant surgery can still provide safe and effective treatment, but a dentist who can perform the surgery themselves likely has more experience. Plus, you’ll be able to save time and money since you’ll only need to visit one office.
Can I receive sedation for my dental appointment?
It will depend on your health history, but we do provide nitrous oxide (laughing gas), oral conscious, and IV dental sedation services. All three are considered to be very safe and effective, but it’s still important to make sure that you won’t experience any adverse reactions due to medical conditions or medications.
If you’ve never received dental sedation in the past, it’s also a good idea to talk with our team beforehand about your situation. We may recommend one type of sedation over the other based on how severe your symptoms of anxiety or discomfort are.
In summary, yes – you can receive sedation for your dental appointment at our office. Just be sure to consult with our team before the day of your visit!
How Long Do Dental Implants Last?
Dental implants in Gainesville are incredibly durable and greatly extend the lifespan of the restorations they’re attached to. On average, you can expect yours to last somewhere between 20 to 30 years. However, with proper care (daily oral hygiene, avoiding substances that could damage your teeth, etc.), dental implants have been known to last a lifetime!
